Candy and Alan will be pinch hitting for Tom and Emily this month and will be featuring a video from the National MS Society, titled “Mood & Cognition In MS (What You Can Do)”. This is a very interesting video, especially if you want to know more about MS and some of its effects on mood (including depression), and memory (including forgetfulness). A limited number of complimentary books will be available at no cost. Discussion segments will be available.
National MS Society Fundraising Events
Aug 6th will be the National MS Society’s, Smarty Pants Trivia night at the Oklahoma History Center; the doors will open at 6 PM. There will also be food, bar and a wine pull. Tickets are $40 or you can get a team of 10 together. This is really a fun event if you have never attended.
Bike MS, The Road Divided is set for Sept. 26 & 27 and the National MS Society is looking for volunteers to help man rest stops for the hundreds of riders. You can call the local National MS Society office, 488-1300, if you are interested.
Medication Seminars
As an affiliate with the NMSS, while we do not endorse specific drugs, there are a few educational events coming up that may be of interest to you.
Genzyme (Aubagio) is also offering a program with speaker Annette Howard, on Thursday, July 30th, 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Iron Star Urban Barbeque, 3700 North Shartel, Oklahoma City, OK 73118.
